Private Events and Celebrations

Whether you’re gathering at home or you’re on vacation, keeping it casual or going celebratory, I will design the menu accordingly while addressing any guests’ special dietary needs of which I’m made aware. I locally source my ingredients wherever and whenever I can, with seasonality top of mind. I take sourcing locally seriously, not only to support fellow farmers, but because it often means looking no further than out my back door. Upon booking, I may even reserve my chef-grown produce just for you!

Food and Wine Pairings

For those of you looking for a wine pairing experience, I have spent my career perfecting the alchemy of pairing wine and food. I believe that tasting wine as food is the key ingredient to the successful pairing of the two.

Wine enthusiasts understand particular varietals share characteristics. However, the range of individual complexities vary from vintage to vintage, vineyard to vineyard and winemaker to winemaker. Tasting a specific varietal with food that brings out these complexities is an amazing magical adventure. Whether wine tasting with friends or savoring a special bottle that you have stored for the perfect moment, my cuisine will elevate the experience to its fullest potential.

Specialty Cakes and Desserts

Aww…the grand finale! For some (like my wife), dessert is the only reason for eating dinner. When out together, we are often asked who does the cooking at home. We both do, but typically, I’m the savory sort and she’s the sweet sort. She’s my go-to cake expert (especially gluten free), but I have my specialties as well: chocolate cabernet cheesecake, tiramisu truffle (not bite size!) and black pepper port ice cream to name a few. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just want a sweet finish, we’ve got you covered.

Cooking Seminars

As I mentioned on my home page, mini cooking “seminars” often evolve when guests hang out with me in the kitchen while I’m fixing their meal. However…if you’re wanting to learn specific techniques for particular recipes or even knife skills and butchering practices, scheduling a separate seminar is the way to go. Seminars vary from lessons in that your involvement is passive. This gives you the visual and auditory advantage, without the distraction of your inner critic feeling the need to “keep up”. We can even schedule a seminar over zoom!

Olive Oil Tastings and Education

Similar to a seminar, we will compare and contrast four varieties of olive oils: three domestic and one European. We will discern the nuances of each and discuss the best applications. Comparison tastings can also be done with responsibly raised caviars.

Event Consults

Are you the do-it-yourselfer who has a vision for hosting that special event but a bit of trepidation keeps you from sending out those invites? I’d be happy to elevate your confidence with a consultation. I can brainstorm menus with you, share recipes and help you figure out quantities for the number of people you’re serving. You retain the bragging rights!
